The 5 Simple Rules are a set of core, yet compact, messages to help young players better understand and play 11-a-side soccer.
This particular book contains a series of short, yet fundamental, ideas for young midfielders and their coaches. The parents of young midfielders will also find the ideas in this book easy for their children to remember and apply.
In 2006, "soccer-dad" John Carragher wrote a series of booklets distilling 11-a-side soccer into five unique sets of what he called ‘5 Simple Rules’.
His did that because in his country, players as young as 10 years old go from the enjoyment of the small-sided game to the challenge of having to cope with adult-sized pitches and adult-sized goals.
The 2011 Kindle versions of those booklets build on that 2006 legacy, but now also include:
• 5 Simple Rules for Coaches
• Detailed FAQs for Parents and Coaches
• Posters of the 5 Simple Rules in English, Spanish, French and German
